How to Make Client ID and Attendee ID Searchable

Make troubleshooting HUD Errors easier by setting up your HomeKeeper to enable searching by “Client ID,” “Client Case Number,” and “Attendee ID” numbers by completing these one-time configuration steps! You can find more details on what is searchable and not searchable in this Salesforce help article.
CAUTION: This search functionality will only work for records with Report to HUD? checked, after you have refreshed HUD data in HUD Connect.
Make Client IDs & Case Numbers Searchable
- Navigate to Setup for your HomeKeeper instance by selecting the gear icon in the top right corner, then click Setup

2. Select the Object Manager tab, then search for HUD Client View and select it:

3. Click on Search Layouts, then use the arrow next to Default to reveal and click on the Edit button.

4. Add “Client ID” and “Client Case Number” to the Selected Fields, then hit Save:

Make Attendee IDs Searchable
- Navigate to Setup for your HomeKeeper instance by selecting the gear icon in the top right corner, then click Setup

2. Select the Object Manager tab, then search for HUD Group Attendee View and select it. You can set up either HUD Group Attendee View or HUD Group Session Attendee View, or both.

3. Click on Search Layouts, then use the arrow next to Default to reveal and click on the Edit button.

4. Add "Attendee ID" to the Selected Fields, then hit Save:

Test Your Search
- Use an any ID Number and search for it in the Global Search bar at the top of the screen. Hit enter to complete the search for long form results!
- For Client IDs and Client Case Numbers, select the HUD Client Views record. For Attendee IDs, look for HUD Group Attendee Views
- Click on the HUD Client View Name to enter the record and find the Counseling/Education record and Service File associated with that ID number.

WARNING: Do not edit the HUD Client View or HUD Group Attendee View records!
These views are refreshed from the real-time data in Service Files and Counseling/Education whenever it is refreshed. To get to the files in question, click on the Service File (1) or Counseling/Education (2) links and update any incorrect or missing information at the source:
