Preparing for Your HomeKeeper Orientation

Once your HomeKeeper application is configured, you're ready to complete your orientation trainings! So, what can you expect from your upcoming trainings? Keep reading to learn how to prepare for your orientation.
How Long is Orientation?
The duration of the onboarding depends on the product(s) you purchased. Your organization will attend HomeKeeper training sessions led by the Onboarding and Training Specialist.
Review the training schedule by selecting your organization's HomeKeeper feature set. Depending on how you use HomeKeeper, you may receive all three types of training.
Three 1.5 hour training sessions for your organization.
Training 1: Salesforce and HomeKeeper Basics, Entering a Property, and Entering an Application or Homeowner
Training 2: Entering a Purchase Transaction
Training 3: Post-Purchase Monitoring, and Entering a Resale
Two 1.5 hour training sessions in a cohort setting.
Training 1: Enter and Update Agency and Counselors Information, Create a Group Session, and Register Clients for Group Sessions
Training 2: Enter a 1-1 Counseling Client, Cleaning Data for HUD Submission
After your cohort training, you'll also be invited to schedule a 30-minute follow-up with HomeKeeper training and support staff to answer questions and
This is a one-hour training for your housing counseling organization to complete a live 9902 submission to HUD though HomeKeeper's HUD Connect App.
HUD Connect Training Instructions. Please complete each of these steps in order:
1. Contact HomeKeeper Support at support@myhomekeeper.org when you are ready to submit to HUD through HomeKeeper for the first time.
3. Make sure your data is ready to submit. You can watch this training video or read this support forum article for instructions.
2. Please send us your Agency ID and up-to-date HUD HCS login info ASAP so we can request the connection from HUD for testing (this can take 4-5 business days).
3. Re-activate the HomeKeeper developer login or grant login access, so HK staff can configure and test HUD Connect, and let us know once this is complete.
4. Reach out to a HomeKeeper Training Staff to schedule your HUD Connect Training.
Who should attend?
HomeKeeper functions on your internal workflow. During orientation, bring anyone on the team who will interact with your workflow or data by entering data, reviewing or confirming data, and determining what data to track. or running reports.
What Should I Bring?
For orientation, please bring any of the following if they are applicable and available for your program:
- Your Salesforce login (username and password). You will log into your Salesforce instance during orientation.
- An application for a homeowner or client who has applied, purchased, and/or sold a home in your program.
- For Homeownership organizations, please also bring property information, such as: property details, development costs, development funding, appraisals, and any other property details you hope to track in HomeKeeper.
Can I Add Customizations During Orientation?
You can request up to 10 customized fields during your orientation sessions. Let your orientation leader know what you would like to change. Advanced customizations may require collaboration with a consultant or Advanced Support from HomeKeeper. We are happy to provide resources for additional customizations as well.
